Description
A rich, creamy, and fast 5-minute smoothie that tastes like a milkshake but provides a nutritious, filling breakfast. Made with frozen bananas, peanut butter, cocoa, and dark chocolate.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large frozen banana (peeled, sliced, approx. 120g)
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter (32g)
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder (5g)
- 1 cup milk (240ml) – dairy or non-dairy
- 1–2 squares dark chocolate, chopped (10-20g)
- Optional: 1 handful spinach (30g)
- Optional: 1 scoop protein powder (30g)
- Optional: Ice cubes
- Optional: 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup
Instructions
- Prep frozen bananas by peeling and slicing them, then freezing for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Pour milk into the blender first to help the blades move freely.
- Add frozen banana slices, peanut butter, cocoa powder, and chopped dark chocolate to the blender.
- Add optional ingredients like spinach or protein powder if desired.
- Blend on low speed, gradually increasing to high, for 30-60 seconds until completely smooth and creamy.
- Taste and adjust consistency by adding more milk if too thick, or more frozen bananas/ice if too thin.
- Pour into a glass or blender bottle and drink immediately.
Notes
Use frozen bananas for a thick, milkshake-like texture; fresh bananas will make it watery. Chop chocolate small to ensure it blends smoothly. This smoothie is best consumed fresh as it separates quickly. You can prep dry ingredients the night before for faster morning assembly.
