Game Day Puppy Chow with Peanut Butter Drizzle

  • Author: Saly
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 10 servings 1x

Description

A quick, no-bake sweet and salty snack made with Chex cereal, chocolate, peanut butter, and pretzels, finished with a rich peanut butter drizzle. Perfect for game day or last-minute parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 cups Chex Mix Cereal (Corn Chex and Rice Chex)
  • 1.5 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 3 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 0.5 cup Smooth Peanut Butter
  • 1 cup Mini Pretzels
  • 1 cup Roasted Peanuts (unsalted)
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Peanut Butter (for drizzle)
  • 1 teaspoon Vegetable Oil (for drizzle)

Instructions

  1. In an extra-large mixing bowl, combine the Chex cereal, mini pretzels, and roasted peanuts. Toss gently to distribute evenly.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and glossy (about 2-3 minutes total). Do not overheat.
  3. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal mix. Use a silicone spatula to fold gently until every piece is evenly coated.
  4. Divide the coated cereal into two batches. Place half into a large ziplock bag with half of the powdered sugar. Seal and shake vigorously to coat. Dump onto parchment paper to cool. Repeat with the second batch.
  5. For the drizzle, mix 2 tablespoons of peanut butter and 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil in a small bowl. Microwave for 15 seconds and stir until smooth.
  6. Pour the drizzle mixture into a small ziplock bag, snip off a corner, and drizzle generously over the cooled puppy chow in zig-zags.
  7. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container.

Notes

Do not rush the melting process; use 30-second intervals to prevent seizing. Ensure the cereal is completely cool before drizzling to prevent the drizzle from running off. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. Do not freeze as texture will become soggy.
